How much does a car rental cost? Our prices start from €17/day for economy cars. The final price depends on:
- The vehicle category
- The rental duration
- The season (high/low season)
- The insurance package you choose

Are there any hidden charges? No! At NiKo Rent, we believe in transparency. The price you see on your booking includes:
- Unlimited mileage (for rentals over €250)
- Free delivery to selected locations
- Basic insurance
- VAT
Additional charges may only arise for:
- Upgrading your insurance package
- Extra equipment (child seats after the 1st one, GPS, snow chains)
- Late vehicle return
How can I cancel or modify my booking? You can cancel or modify your booking for free up to 20 days before the pickup date. For cancellations within 20 days, please contact us regarding the terms. Use the “Cancel/Modify Booking” form on our homepage or call us at +30 697 161 0016.
Do you accept credit cards? Yes, we accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). A credit card in the name of the primary driver is required for the security deposit.
Driver Requirements
How old do I need to be to rent a car? The minimum driver age is 21 years old. The driver must have held a valid driver’s license for at least 1 year. For certain vehicle categories (SUVs, 9-seaters), a minimum age of 23+ may be required.
What documents do I need upon pickup? Required documents:
- Valid driver’s license (Greek or European)
- ID card or Passport
- Credit card in the primary driver’s name
For non-EU drivers:
- International Driving Permit (IDP)
- National driver’s license
Can I add an additional driver? Yes! The first additional driver is free. Simply provide their name during booking or pickup. The additional driver must meet the same age requirements and present the same documents. An upgraded insurance package is required for a 2nd or 3rd additional driver.
Insurance & Protection
What insurance is included? Basic insurance includes:
- Third-party liability insurance
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with excess
- 24-hour roadside assistance
For full protection, we offer 3 packages:
- Basic Package – Standard coverage
- Standard Package – Reduced excess
- Full Protection Package – Zero excess View detailed insurance packages →
What does “excess” mean? The excess (deductible) is the amount you would pay in case of damage or theft of the vehicle. For example:
- Basic package: €800-1200 excess
- Standard package: €400-600 excess
- Full package: €0 (zero) excess
Are tire and windshield damages covered? With the Full Protection Package, there is full coverage for glass and tires. With other packages, damage to tires and windows is the driver’s responsibility.
What happens in case of an accident?

- If necessary, call the Police (100) and Emergency Services (166)
- Take photos of the damage
- Complete the accident report
- We handle the rest Roadside assistance is free 24/7 throughout Greece.
Fuel & Mileage
What is the fuel policy? Full-to-Full You pick up the vehicle with a full tank and return it full. This is the most cost-effective method. Note: If you return the car without a full tank, you will be charged for the difference plus an administrative fee.
How many kilometers are included?
- Rentals over €250: Unlimited mileage
- 1-2 day rentals under €250: 150 km/day
- Additional kilometers: €0.15/km For long-term rentals (7+ days), we usually offer unlimited mileage.
Can I drive on dirt roads? Driving on dirt roads is permitted with caution. However, damage resulting from off-road driving is not covered by insurance. For access to beaches (e.g., Thassos, Ammolofoi), we recommend the Standard or Full insurance package.
Pickup & Return
Where can I pick up the car? We offer free delivery at:
- Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia” (SKG)
- Kavala Airport “Megas Alexandros” (KVA)
- Kavala Port
- Our headquarters in Drama
We can also deliver to your hotel or another location for an additional fee.
How does airport pickup work?
- After landing and collecting your luggage, call us at +30 697 161 0016
- Our representative will meet you in the arrivals hall with a “NiKo Rent” sign
- They will lead you to the vehicle in the airport parking lot
- We will complete the paperwork and inspect the car together
- Depart in 10-15 minutes! Important: Please provide your flight number when booking so we can monitor any delays.
Can I return the car to a different location? Yes, one-way rentals are allowed. Contact us for one-way fees, which depend on the route.
What time can I pick up/return the car? Office Hours: Monday-Sunday, 8:30-21:00 Out-of-hours pickup/return:Available with 24-hour notice. A €20 fee applies for hours between 21:00-8:30. For airports: We adjust to your flight schedule without extra charge.
Travel & Limits
Can I travel to Bulgaria? Yes, travel to Bulgaria is permitted. You must:
- State it during booking
- Have the Standard or Full insurance package
- Request a Green Card (insurance card) for abroad Green Card fee: €30 for a duration of up to 1 month.
Can I take the car to Thassos? Yes! Thassos is a popular destination. The car can board the ferry from Kavala or Keramoti Port. Ferry tickets are at the customer’s expense. We recommend the Standard or Full package due to the dirt roads leading to some beaches.
Is smoking allowed in the car? No, all our vehicles are smoke-free. Cleaning fee for violation: €100
Can I bring a pet? Yes, pets are allowed under the following conditions:
- They must travel in a crate or with a special safety belt
- Cleaning fee: €30
- Please mention it during booking
Extra Equipment
What extra equipment do you offer? Free:
- 1st child seat (0-4 years or 4-12 years)
- 1st additional driver
Paid:
- Additional child seats: €3/day
- GPS: €5/day
- Snow chains: €15 for the total duration
- Snow socks: €10 for the total duration
- Phone holder: Free (upon request)
Note: Available equipment depends on availability. Please book in advance.
How do the child seats work? We offer:
- Baby seat (0-13 kg, 0-1 year): Rear-facing
- Child seat (9-18 kg, 1-4 years): Forward-facing
- Booster seat (15-36 kg, 4-12 years): With or without backrest The 1st seat is free for families. Just select the category you need during booking.
Other Questions
What if I am late for the return? Grace period: 59 minutes After that:
- 1-2 hours delay: €20 charge
- More than 2 hours: Charge of 1 additional rental day If you know you will be late, please call us! We will do our best to help.
What if I lock my keys inside the car? Call our 24-hour support line: +30 697 161 0016 We will send roadside assistance free of charge to open the vehicle. Usually within 30-60 minutes depending on your location.
Do you provide an invoice? Yes, we provide a full tax document (receipt or invoice) for all rentals. For a corporate invoice, please provide your company details during booking.
Do you offer discounts for long-term rentals? Yes! For rentals:
- 7-13 days: 10% discount
- 14-29 days: 15% discount
